- Client: international telecommunications company with 175 worldwide offices
- Vacancy: Java developer
- Consultant: Zoya Bogdashkina
Our client was establishing an R&D center in Ireland and was interested in a quick search for IT specialists. However, the company was aware that the shortage and nonavailability of specialists — and their reluctance to change jobs — would probably make it difficult to fill the vacancy in the desired time frame. Thanks to our international recruiting experience, the client was open to finding and relocating developers from other countries. After a briefing with the client, our agency immediately began the search.
We searched for senior architect candidates with the following skills:
- 8+ years’ experience in Java development, including architectural design
- Experience with OSS, UNIX, Sybase and Oracle
- Knowledge of Spring and Hibernate
- Higher technical education
- Good communication skills
- Willing to work in an agile environment
- Good level (B1+) of English
The vacancy consisted of the following multi-stage recruitment process:
- CV review
- Interview with the company’s technical manager
- Interview with the company’s line manager
- In-person interview in Dublin
- Job offer
- Visa registration and a package of relocation documents
Using proven search technologies and our own international candidate database, our consultants focused on finding developers that would be interested in moving to Ireland. The established, reputable company appealed to most candidates; however, the location of the R&D center — not situated in a big city but in the suburbs — was a factor that deterred specialists from considering the vacancy.
In addition to carrying out HR interviews, assessing candidates’ level of training and their willingness to change jobs, our consultants also presented the company to potential candidates and provided pertinent information on the cost of living, taxes, infrastructure and professional opportunities available in the area.
Ensuring a transparent candidate selection was an important part of our work. Even though it delayed recruitment, we evaluated candidates and determined their readiness for the lengthy recruitment process, which included several stages.
Furthermore, our agency offered candidates full support in obtaining visas for the final interview along with helping collect the necessary documents for relocation.
Two of our candidates from Brazil and Russia went through all the recruitment stages and accepted an offer. Relocation took two months. The candidates have since successfully passed their probationary period and continue to work for the company.
With our extensive experience, we have helped many international companies select and relocate the right IT specialists. If you need advice, a salary survey, analytical support, or know exactly who you would like to find, leave a request on our website. We would be happy to share our experiences in IT recruitment.
