Company is a global provider leading in corporate payment products to over 800,000 businesses around the world. As a result, company has grown significantly over the last 10 years to become one of the world's largest provider of commercial payment products.


Reporting to Managing Director and being an integral part of the senior leadership team, the CIO (Russia) will provide leadership and direction for the IT organization in Russia and CIS. This role will shape and define IT strategy and drive for delivering transformation solutions and organizational growth and innovations.

The CIO will be a proactive, energetic contributor and driver of change in the business and be leading everything related to the IT organization, including people, processes, best practices and performance. The CIO will be a thought leader able to inspire and energize the business with your ideas for the deployment of technology to solve complex business issues and create competitive advantage across our product and geographies. Key objectives for the role include transformation thought leadership, cross-functional program management, and the development and execution of major components of the technology strategy. Moreover, of course, to deliver on ambitious business growth agenda!

  • Define and execute a best-in-class IT strategy with respects to existing and new products, services and platforms

  • Deliver against company’s ambitions for building a better type of IT delivery organization that can scale, and will bring focus to expanding, developing and supporting future growth in the B2B payment market

  • Lead and grow a team of excellent development, analysis and quality focused engineers in building and running and growing new technology platforms for unified customer experience, mobile and digital self-service and electronic payments

  • Control of complex budgets and great financial disciplines and transparent reporting of progress, keeping stakeholders informed to aid great decision-making is a key deliverable of the Role

  • Building and maintaining a high performing IT team, including working with the wider organization to attract, develop and retain high performing talents ((currently c.100 employees)

  • Together with the wider leadership team, continue to evolve the organization with respect to becoming a future-ready company


  • The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience with leading an IT organization ideally in digital/corporate B2B environment (experience from high volume transactional telco, financial services or similar environment a huge advantage)

  • Must have experience of working in an international organization

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferable, or qualified by relevant experience

  • A strong and passionate leader of people and ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders across a complex matrix organization is a necessity

  • Proven track-record of the application of innovative and fit for purpose IT and leadership practices within a multi-faceted business, driving organizational and cultural transformation

  • Great technical understanding - you need to have a grasp of established and emerging technology trends

  • Increasingly we will move to make more use of cloud so understanding when, why and the challenges will be important. Knowledge of cloud products and capabilities, server-less computing, containerization and orchestration on AWS in particular would be beneficial

  • Numerate, analytical and commercially focused, the successful candidate will understand and then drive business performance through a combination of financial & performance metrics

  • We are agile and are setting up our teams to be self-managing and multi skilled so a track-record of establishing this type of environment will be valuable

A CIO able to proactively develop and maintain a comprehensive network of relationships with a broad range of different stakeholders, both internally and externally.
